Getting Started with NespoCASH & Retail

Welcome to NespoCASH. This master guide walks you through setting up your commercial workspace from the ground up, adding your first sellable inventory item, running a lightning-fast counter checkout, and issuing a formatted ESC/POS thermal receipt in under 5 minutes.

Prerequisites & Required Roles

• User Permissions: Requires an active workspace user with Store Owner, Manager, or combined Catalogue + Retail POS permissions.
• Hardware (Optional): Any standard USB or Bluetooth ESC/POS 80mm or 58mm thermal receipt printer and a USB barcode scanner.
• Network: Internet connection is required for initial tenant onboarding; all subsequent steps operate completely offline.

Step-by-Step Workflow Guide

1. Navigate to Catalogue & Inventory:

   From the main navigation sidebar, click on Catalogue (or press Alt + C). This opens your product database where all sellable goods, raw materials, and services are managed.

2. Create Your First Sellable Item:

   Click the green + Add Item button in the top header. In the modal, configure the core attributes:

   • Item Name: e.g., Specialty Cold Brew 250ml
   • Unit Category: Select Count (pcs, units)
   • Measurement Unit: Select Piece (pc)
   • Selling Price: Enter $4.50 (or your local workspace currency)
   • Default Purchase Cost: Enter $1.80 (used for automated FIFO inventory valuation)
   • Barcode / SKU: Scan or type 628100010203
   • Show on Online Store: Toggle to Enabled so customers can also order it via WhatsApp.

   Click Save Item. The item is instantly committed to both local IndexedDB storage and synchronized with your workspace database.

3. Launch the Retail POS Terminal:

   Click on the Retail POS tab in the navigation bar. The screen transforms into a touch-optimized counter register.

4. Build the Cart & Add Discounts:

   You can add items by either clicking the card on the visual grid or scanning the barcode directly. Adjust the quantity using the + or - stepper, or tap the quantity counter to type a bulk number. If running a promotion, apply a fixed or percentage cart discount.

5. Collect Payment & Tender Transaction:

   Click the prominent green Pay / Tender button at the bottom of the cart panel.

   Select your payment method:

   • Cash: Quick tender buttons ($5, $10, $20, $50, $100) automatically calculate the exact customer change due.
   • Card: Records terminal reference and marks funds directly into your designated Bank/POS clearing account.
   • Split Payment: Allows the customer to pay a portion in cash and the remainder on card.

   Click Confirm & Complete Sale.

6. Print 80mm Thermal Receipt:

   Immediately upon sale completion, the transaction summary modal appears. Click Print Receipt. The pre-configured ESC/POS printer driver formats an elegant bilingual receipt containing your business logo, tax registration number, itemized breakdown, and compliant QR code.

Initial Onboarding & Operational Checklist

Note: Total Debits ($6.30) equal Total Credits ($6.30). Your Gross Profit of $2.70 is recognized instantly on your real-time Income Statement without waiting for month-end manual journals.
